As someone who has been replaying Adele's Rolling In the Deep for nearly nine months now, I'll take any excuse to hear a new version of this song. Reworked versions from Adele herself? Sure. Lil Wayne rapping over the instrumental version? Great. A live, in-person version that makes me think twice about whether or not there is a god, and if that god is in fact named Adele Laurie Blue Adkins? You betcha. An acoustic version by Boyce Avenue? Abso-fucking-lutely.

In the too-often-repeated words of Randy Jackson: I'm pretty sure Alejandro Manzano could sing the phone book and still make it sound magical. (Need more proof?)

Bonnie Raitt's Can't Make You Love Me is without a doubt, an exclusive member on a list I like to call "The Saddest Songs I've Ever Heard". Extra heartbreak points have recently been added, now that my beloved Adele has released her own version of the song, available on her iTunes Festival: London 2011 EP.

NEW MUSIC: ADELE

Two new Adele songs hit the internet this week, and both have blown me away. The first, "Rolling In the Deep", has me incessantly tapping my feet, clapping my hands, and generally dancing around my apartment like a fool because of its infectious rhythm. "Rolling In the Deep" is soulful and textured as it tells a story of heartbreak, from the perspective of,  "Oh shit, you screwed up, and now I'm gonna make you pay--probably in ways you couldn't have even imagined. You have no idea what you lost, you fool!" That's really the best perspective, if you ask me.

The other track, "Someone Like You" is absolutely stunning and heartbreaking. When I listen to it, I can literally feel a jagged little line forming down the middle of my heart. I can't even find the words to do it justice. This, too, tells a story of heartbreak, but in a different manner. It's understated but substantial, and Adele's voice and her lyrics are equally and frighteningly powerful.
